The Winners!Andrew | 04 September, 2007 16:13 | (296)
The second Trail Treasure Contest is closed, and we have our winners!
Congratulations to "Hogans10," the winner of a $50 gift card at Goodales Bicycle Shop, and Tiffany Stanton, winner of a $25 Goodales gift certificate. Hogans10 did not include a name with his or her e-mail entry, which is fine. Congratulations to everyone who got out and found the treasure chest. As always, the real prize is to get out and enjoy yourself. I've noticed that the Nashua Rail Trail has become a whole lot more crowded with each passing summer, and that's a good thing... on the whole. I hope people who enjoy such trails will lobby for more; there are plenty of abandoned railways in the region. The next TT contest will begin later this month, as soon as I get around to organizing it. I plan to make it tougher, and to keep it open longer. We got 29 entries this time around, up from 26 for the first contest. Observant readers will recall that "Hogans10" also was the first person to find the treasure, but I can assure folks that Hogan's victory is coincidental. For the first TT contest, I printed out all the entries and then asked our News VP Dave Solomon to pick one from a bucket. This time, I got my geek on, and copied the e-mail headers into Excel, then plucked out the names and put them into a list randomizer on the Web. I got the following result (note, I've scrubbed out the ISP part of e-mail addresses, to keep the bots at bay): List Randomizer hogans10@
