Another way to fry your brain

Andrew | 13 July, 2007 09:02 | (218)

It hardly comes as a shock to hear that wearing your iPod outdoors during a thunderstorm is a bad idea.

A study to that effect, however, was published in the current New England Journal of Medicine and got a great deal of attention in the news. The gist is people should consider not wearing metal devices, particularly those inserted into bodily orifices, outdoors during a thunderstorm. Duely noted.

Thunderstorms can't be good for your iPod, either. In addition to the obvious hazard of lightning, I've never assumed that my iPod was designed to get wet. I like to wrap mine up in plastic before I take it out in the rain.

Share and enjoy.
