Sprucing up Monadnock

Andrew | 12 June, 2007 13:44 | (142)

Mount Monadnock is the second-most climbed mountain in the world, I'm told, and I've been doing my part, if not lately.

I've been hiking Monadnock since I was a wee boy, so it's long had a special place in my heart. So, I think I will look into joining one of five trail work days scheduled next month. The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests is organizing the event, and EMS is sponsoring it. Here's the announcement:

They seem to be looking mainly for hiking clubs, but I assume they would welcome individual volunteers. The work will be start on Saturday, July 21, and continue through Wednesday July 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Share and enjoy.
