Mark, set, go

Tonight was opening night for the Mine Falls Park trail race series.

As previously reported here, the Gate City Striders have organized a 10-week series, with 5K and 5 mile races every Monday night.  Here's the Web site for the series. It was hard, but I forced myself to sit it out... On Sunday, I'd gone for my first run of any significant distance (a bit more than two hours) since my Soapstone debacle... Monday, I started to feel sore about 1.5 miles with Steve in the MFP, so we cut it short and turned around.

It looked as though they got a pretty good turnout for the race. I can't wait to join in... but I'm going to have to...

Results for the first race are up on Cool Running, along with a brief report (unsigned, but I'm betting it was by organizer Micheal Wade, whom I had the pleasure of meeting briefly on the Mill Pond trail!)
