Glutes of irony

Andrew | 15 May, 2007 08:32 | (157)

I appreciate irony, even when I bear the brunt of it, so a sense of amusement accompanies my suffering from a chronic pain in the arse.

I hope that my vulgar language causes no offense, but there is no more succinct way to describe piriformis syndrome, the overtightening and inflamation of a muscle deep within the gluteus. It is, quite literally, a PIA, and can and does twang on the sciatic nerve. What a strange fate for a guy who makes his living by habitually pestering a few people for information, so as to share it with a wider audience. I get relief from stretching but alas, sitting aggravates the condition, and my job requires far too much of that, too.

Share and enjoy.
