The Mount Washington Road Race is coming right up, June 16. I won't be there myself, but a whole lot of locals will.

A whole bunch of guys will represent the Gate City Striders Triad Racing Team: Bruce Brinkema, 72, of Amherst; Robert Bottomley, 32 of Hollis; Tom Kolb, 51, of Merrimack; Trevor Ward, 57, of Merrimack; Richard MacDonald, 57, of Milford; Skip Cleaver, 62, of Nashua; Gig Walsh, 35, of Nashua; and Damian Rowe, 53, of Wilton.

Other lucky local lottery winners include: John Heden, 46, of Hollis, Team Waters;
Thomas Varick, 42, of Litchfield, Greater Derry Track Club; Christopher Mulligan, 39, of Hudson; Steve Moland, 63, of Litchfield; Tim Coker, 29, of Merrimack; Daniel Oberlander, 47, of Merrimack; Denny Le Blanc, 65, of Nashua; Michael Smith, 40, of New Ipswich, Nord Italia; Steven Donohue, 41, of Nashua; Mark Farren, 42, of Nashua, Greater Lowell Road Runners; Helen Ferrigno, 69, of Nashua; Maurice Ferrigno, 75, of Nashua, New England 65+ Runners; Marvin Olsen, 43, of Nashua; and
Brian Sullivan, 44, of Wilton.

I also noticed some familiar names from the trail racing scene, including Ben Nephew,  Dmitry Drozdov, Carol Kane and of course Dave Dunham, who wrote the book on the Mt. Washington race.

Good luck to all of you. I'm sure that running uphill (6,288 feet) for 7.6 miles will be a whole lot more fun than it sounds.

Share and enjoy.
