Race called for snowAndrew | 20 March, 2007 06:42 | (132)
Nashua has lost the distinction of hosting the first trail race of the season, as 3C Productions Race Director Michael Amarello has postponed this Saturday's 5k in Mine Falls Park.
Michael was good enough to offer several different options for rain checks. Here's his e-mail: To Luv2Run Nashua 5K Registrants: Due to the recent snow storm, the trails at Mine Falls Park are not open to runners, therefore we are forced to reschedule the race to April 15 at 10:00 AM. Fortunately this is an open date on the New Hampshire race calendar. You can choose 1 of 4 options: 1 - Run the race on April 15. 2 - Switch your entry to any of our other Luv2Run races, to the Moose On The Loose 10 Miler, to the Jack London 10K Trail Race, or to any of the Artesani Park 5K Races. Our schedule is at: http://www.3craceproductions.com/RaceScheduleResults.htm 3 - Use your entry fee as partial payment of the entry fee for any of our Loco Moose Almost Free Running Shoes races. ($36 entry fee but you get a brand new pair of custom fitted running shoes from Loco Sports.) 4 - Get a refund of your entry fee. Please respond to this email as soon as possible with your choice. If we do not hear from you in the next 48 hours we will follow up with a phone call to ensure that you don't show up on the 24th. Thank you and please accept my apoligy for rescheduling the race, but it could not be avoided. Michael Amarello 3C Race Productions It's true that MFP trails get pretty nasty as the snow ages, but that's because they are so well used - the snow gets packed into ice. I ran there yesterday afternoon, myself. It was great. I think I will apply my registration $ toward another of his 5K races, the Loco Moose 5K, July 29 at my other favorite stomping grounds, Beaver Brook in Hollis. It's a pricey race, because everyone who signs up gets a pair of shoes from Loco Running, a New Hampshire based shoe company. I'd never heard of them until hearing about the race series, so I guess their sponsorship is paying off. I've never tried their shoes, nor met anyone who has, either. If anyone has first-hand (feet, rather) experience with them, please post a quick review. Add commentAbout Mesearcharchives
