flinging mud

What is it about mud? New Hampshire has a great tradition of football in the mud, and the Muddy Moose may be the messiest trail race around.

Race director Fergus Cullen has updated the race web site, and online registration is up and running. There's a 14 mile course and a four mile course. As Cullen writes, "two paths diverge in the woods, and the one you take makes all the difference."

I'm doing the 14, myself, and wearing an older pair of shoes!

Check out the photos and results from the past two years. Ben Nephew of Mansfield, Mass., who won last year's Greylock Marathon, took second close behind Dmitry Drozdov of Waltham Mass., finishing just over and under 1:30 respectively.

Of course, mud comes into play in New Hampshire's official state sport, too... but I trust Cullen is too classy to play in the mud while wearing his state Republican Party Chairman hat!

Share and enjoy.

Keep up with you? Maybe on the trail, but otherwise you're way ahead as usual : )
I e-mailed Nipmuck Dave about an application, but haven't heard back... hope it comes by mail, I'd be bummed if I don't get into that one.
