lincoln mass.

I celebrated Lincoln's birthday a day early, by going to visit my sister in Lincoln, Mass. I got out to check out some of the local trails, while I was there.

Lincoln is a lovely little town. Besides being close to Walden Pond, it also is home of the DeCordova Museum and sculpture garden, a huge favorite of both myself and my son... it's a great place to introduce children to art and just to see some rockin' exhibits.

But I digress.

From what I've seen of the town, Lincoln is laced with trails. There are paths practically right out my sister's back door that wind through the wooded swaths between the streets. The town also has asphalt sidewalks along most of its main roads... very pedestrian-friendly.

I ran mostly around the Mount Misery conservation land. I was expecting a bigger hill, with a name like that, but Mount Misery takes all of about two minutes to climb. It makes for a good training ground, though... the hills are a lot like those you'll encounter on local trail races.
