the weird turn pro

We rocked the house at Tupelo today! It looked like a near sell-out crowd, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves... not least of all me.

I always feels weird for me to get up on stage, and stranger still to enjoy it, but how harsh can a crowd of little kids and parents get? We played 'Here Comes the Sun,' 'I Want to Hold Your Hand,' 'Twist and Shout,' 'Yellow Submarine,' and one of Steve's originals. Steve played a bunch more on his own. We only messed up once or twice; my son says we sounded great. Steve actually paid me, so I guess now I'm a professional musician... if only I could play like one... Tupelo is a cool venue... check out their schedule, and support your local scene.

I finally got my pix developed (yes, I still use film). These photos were taken by my son, who prefers to remain anonymous:

Share and enjoy.

It might feel weird to "turn pro" by having Steve pay you for helping out today. My son (Wesley) had a blast today...he was ready to get up on stage to help the band. Wesley enjoyed Steve and you sharing time with him before the show and allowing for him (and other kids) to play on the bongo-style drum. Thanks for adding to an enjoyable father/son outing today.
