Barr crashes McCain return visit to NH

Republican nominee to be John McCain won’t be the only presidential candidate stumping in New Hampshire next Tuesday.
Libertarian hopeful and former Georgia Congressman Robert Barr will spend some of the day in the state, his first visit since becoming his party’s nominee.
Barr’s only public event Tuesday is an 8 p.m. meet and greet at Murphy’s Taproom, 494 Elm St.
Barr campaign officials claim the latest Zogby online poll from NH respondents that gave him 10 percent support, the most the Libertarian has attracted in any state.
“The momentum for Bob’s campaign is really growing," said LPNH Chairman Brendan Kelly. "He’s polling at 10% without any yard signs and he hasn’t even been here yet."
UNH politics professor Dante Scala has said he finds it “tough to believe” Barr has that kind of support.
The survey had a dead heat between Democrat Barack Obama (40 percent) and Republican John McCain (37 percent) as the spread was within the poll’s 4.8 percent margin of error.
