New poll has Sununu deeply in hole

  Democratic Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen opened up a commanding, 22-point lead over New Hampshire Republican Senator John E. Sununu in a new, independent poll released today.
   The American Research Group telephone survey put Shaheen in front, 58 percent to 36 percent. An ARG poll in June had Shaheen leading, 54 percent to 40 percent.

Barr crashes McCain return visit to NH

  Republican nominee to be John McCain won’t be the only presidential candidate stumping in New Hampshire next Tuesday.
   Libertarian hopeful and former Georgia Congressman Robert Barr will spend some of the day in the state, his first visit since becoming his party’s nominee.

Clegg and Horn cash in

   Hudson Republican Sen. Robert Clegg doubled his “investment” in his Second Congressional District campaign during the second quarter.
   Meanwhile, former talk show host and GOP primary rival Jennifer Horn already offered the money isn’t everything defense for why Clegg had eight times in the bank than Horn has.

   CONCORD [-] John McCain’s presidential campaign announced this morning his return to New Hampshire on July 22 will include a town-hall style forum in Rochester.
 
   The Rochester Opera House is the site for the event and the doors open at 10:30 a.m.
