Push poll life preserver

KevinLandrigan | 03 January, 2008 15:10 | (149)

CONCORD [-] Attorney General Kelly Ayotte is making an 11th hour appeal for the public’s help to identify the source of a telephone calling campaign that attacked Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

The company conducting what some called a  poll is Moore Information of Portland Oregon but it is fighting an AG subpoena to identify the source before next Tuesday’s primary.

The Romney and John McCain campaigns requested the probe.

Meanwhile, an Oregon court has set a hearing on the matter Jan. 16 and this prompted Ayotte to set up a toll-free number to identify the poll’s source.    The toll free number is 1-866-868-3703.    The push poll law does not apply to presidential primaries. -30-
