The newest big fish

Democrat Katrina Swett's withdrawal from the US Senate race Friday makes her the hottest, sought-after property for the Democratic presidential campaigns.

Hillary Clinton is naturally the front-runner to get the endorsement given Bill Clinton made husband and ex-Congressman Dick Swett US ambassador to Denmark following the former President's 1996 re-election campaign.

Both Clintons campaigned for Dick Swett in his 1996 loss to Republican Sen. Bob Smith.

And they helped Katrina Swett raise money during her 2002 loss to Republican Congressman Charles Bass.

But the Swetts have plenty of other ties. For example, she worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee back when Delaware Democrat Joe Biden was a much younger, rising star in the Senate.

Both were with Joe Lieberman during his Democratic run for the White House  in 2004.

Guess we can forgive the Swetts foir being with Joe Liberman in 2004. Hopefully they have crossed Liberman off of their 2007 Christmas (oops I mean Hannuka) list.
