Fred's Coming Out in NH

KevinLandrigan | 05 September, 2007 19:51 | (226)

Former Tennessee Senator turned Hollywood actor Fred Thompson brings his announcement tour to the state Sunday.

But while Thompson is solidly in the top tier of candidates in national and state polls, the effort will begin at sites hosted by key activists supporting someone else.

Campaign sources confirmed Thompson will begin the visit with a stop at the Stratham farm of former House Speaker Douglas Scamman Jr.  Scamman is backing former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Thompson then heads to a rally at Nashua City Hall where outgoing Mayor Bernie Streeter will play host.  Streeter is in the camp of Arizona Senator John McCain.

The third, public event will be a stop at a Manchester sports bar to join patrons watching the first game of the year for the New England Patriots.

Debate Huckabee Challenge [Reply]

If anyone gets a chance, ask Fred if he will debate Mike Huckabee...Lincoln - Douglas style....a format he claims to prefer. I guess that explains how he could announce officially to run on the same day as the UNH debate, but not participate in it.

Here's part of Mike Huckabee's letter to him today at mikehuckabee.com
"I am aware of your comments on Fox News that you would like to participate in a series of Lincoln Douglas-styled debates. I would like to officially accept your offer and look forward to working with your staff to schedule this. I would suggest we start this series in New Hampshire."

Go for it Fred!!!!

Fred's in N.H. [Reply]

Where's Fred ? Not in N.H. Did he actually go to N.H. in early Sept.? If so, wake him up and tell him to come back to see the Fall colors. Tell him there is a whole lot more to N.H. then the Straham farm, the Nashua City Hall and a Manchester sports bar.
