ITT Tech to DWC: Do not speak of sale
Filed under Uncategorized by michael brindley at 6:46 pm
After learning today that the state’s Postsecondary Education Commission had approved the proposed sale of Daniel Webster College to the for-profit ITT Tech, I placed a call to the college’s media relations department for a comment and an update on where the transaction now stands.
Lisa Cramb, the college’s director of media relations, informed me that the college was under instructions to forward all calls about the acquisition to the ITT Tech headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. I placed the call to Indiana and left a message.
But this raises some interesting questions. Is this control of information that is being imposed by ITT Tech upon Daniel Webster College a sign of things to come? When news of the sale was first announced, the college went out of its way to make President Skip Myers available. Why has ITT now apparently put a muzzle on all college officials when it comes to speaking about the sale?
