According to the NH Football Report, Bishop Guertin has filled its open date in football this fall.
And after months of searching Bishop Guertin athletic director and football coach Tony Johnson has found a pretty good opponent. The Cardinals will host Catholic Memorial High School of West Roxbury, Mass., in a 7 p.m. game on Friday, Oct. 16, at Stellos Stadium.
Catholic Memorial has won eight titles in the highly competitive Catholic Conference over the years, appeared in three Massachusetts Super Bowls and won three state championships.
They are a Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association power in ice hockey, winning 13 Super Eight championships. Their biggest rival is conference foe Boston College High School.
