Tiffany Ruffin, arguably the top point guard in state history, has verbally committed to Boston College, where she’ll join Steph Murphy of Londonderry for the 2010-2011 season.
Ruffin has led Winnacunnet of Hampton to three straight Class L titles and the Warriors will be heavily favored to make it four straight next winter during Ruffin’s senior year. She was offered a scholarship to the University of New Hampshire as a sophomore and has had many other Division I offers over the last two years.
Murphy, one of the best post players to ever come out of New Hampshire, was the ACC Rookie of the Year as a freshman and is coming off a solid sophomore season for the Eagles.
The state’s second best point guard, Christiana Bakolas of Manchester Central, recently verbally committed to Division II power Bentley College. She had a number of offers from both Div. I and Div. II programs.
Both Ruffin and Bakolas have played with the New England Crusaders AAU program for a number of years.
