Nashua’s Absolute Broadcasting radio station blocked from broadcasting Red Sox games

As if having to deal with the NFL Network-Comcast situation isn’t enough, now Absolute Broadcasting is being blocked from broadcasting Red Sox games to the southern New Hampshire market by Entercom Communications.
Absolute Broadcasting, which runs WGAM 1250-AM in Manchester, WGHM 900-AM and WSMN 1590-AM in Nashua, had similar issues earlier in the season before both sides agreed to let Absolute Broadcasting continue carrying the Red Sox while negotiations were ongoing.
That agreement appears to have ended.
In a statement e-mailed to The Telegraph Wednesday morning, Absolute Broadcasting general manager Michael Winn clarified the situation:
“Over the past month Absolute Broadcasting has been in negotiations with Entercom Communications in regards to the play-by-play broadcasting rights for the Boston Red Sox. Late last week, those negotiations stalled and Entercom chose to stop letting us broadcast the games to Southern New Hampshire. Due to the difficult economic climate it became impossible for us to continue under the current arrangement. Sponsorship of the broadcasts have declined while our costs have increased. Negotiations are ongoing and we hope to resume broadcasting the games as soon as possible.”
