Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker will miss his second straight game as he was listed as inactive for today’s game with Atlanta. The guess is that despite some optimism earlier he might play, the wet conditions here at Gillette have forced the Patriots to be cautious.

Also joining Welker on the inactive list, besides LB Jerod Mayo, are cornerbacks Jonathan Wilhite and rookie Darius Butler, running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, linemen Rich Ohrnberter and Kendall Simons, and, interestingly enough, newly acquired linebacker Prescott Burgess.

As for Atlanta, they’ve listed cornerback Tye hill, safety William Moore, running back Jerious Norwood, linebacker Spencer Adkins, offensive tackles Will Svitek and Garrett Reynolds, and DT Vance Walker.
