Monday night inactives

Running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, as well as early preseason sensation Julian Edelman headed the list of inactives for Monday night’s season opener with Buffalo at Gillette Stadium.
Edleman, the rookie wide receiver/return man, was suffering from a sore ankle. Green-Ellis, meanwhile, joined offensive linement Rich Ohrnberter and Kendall Simmons as healthy scratches.
Other inactives included wideout Matthew Slater (elbow), cornerback Terrence Wheatley (knee), offensive lineman Dan Connolly (back) and defensive lineman Myron Pryor (calf).
Out for the Bills were wideout Steve Johnson, defensive backs Ellis Lankster and Drayton Florence, linebacker Ashlee Palmer, tackle Kirk Champers, defensive end Chris Ellis and tight end Derek Fine. Gilbran Hamdan was the Bills emergency third QB — something the Patriots, with only rookie free agent signee Brian Hoyer as a backup, don’t have.
