Brown inactive, Watson active

Tom | 29 December, 2007 19:58 | (80)

There was a wide receiver named Moss on the inactive list last night -- the Giants' Sinorice Moss. But, most notably for New England, wide receiver Troy Brown was inactive as well. It was thought that Brown might play, because he hadn't caught a ball all year and this would be a nice possible finale for his Patriots career. It will be the first time since 1994, where he played nine games, that Brown hadn't recorded a catch. He began the year on PUP and has only played in one game.
Also inactive for the Patriots were second-year wideout Chad Jackson, like Brown a presumed healthy scratch. Injured inactives included special teamer Willie Andrews, running back Kyle Eckel (stomach),  offensive linemen Stephen Neal (shoulder) and Nick Kaczur (ankle), tight end Kyle Brady (foot), while Matt Gutierrez was the emergency third quarterback.
Another notable was the fact that Pats tight end Ben Watson was active for the first time in the last three weeks.
Interestingly, the Giants had Plaxico Burress and running back Brandon Jacobs, both nicked up, active. Rookie running back Ahmad Bradshaw and cornerback Kevin Dockery, both hurt, were inactive along with linebacker Tank Daniels, tackl Adam Koets, DT Manny Wright, and tight end Jerome Collins. Jared Lorenzen was the emergency third QB.
