You don’t have to spend a ton to look great at prom in NH

Prom is right around the corner and finding the perfect dress is a must, but with many trying to save money, buying a dress isn’t so easy. Luckily, you can find the perfect dress, whether it’s for you, your daughter or another teenage girl in your life, without having to spend a ton or maybe without having to spend at all.
Check out an article in this week’s Cabinet about a place called My Sister’s Closet in Greenville.
The shop offers discount dresses and a tux rental program. The dresses range from $25-$60 but students who receive food stamps or Temporary Aid to Needy Families qualify for a free dress. Tux rentals cost $20, $10 of which is refunded when the rental is returned.
The store is at 67 Main St. and is open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Ssaturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. Storeowner Heather Young can be reached at busdriver03048@gmail.com.
Another great place to find a dress is the Cinderella Project of NH, which was featured on WMUR’s Chronicle.
Watch the video segment here.
The Cinderella Project holds boutiques throughout the year and provides dresses, shoes and accessories free of charge to girls who can’t afford them.
For another cheap option, check out Goodwill. There’s a huge selection of gowns, many only worn once, at reasonable prices. The best part about buying at Goodwill is there is almost no chance someone else will show up to prom in the same dress, and you can get shoes and accessories for a discount as well.
Find a Goodwill near you here.
And if you’re not in the market for a dress but have an old one hanging around that you have no plans to wear, consider donating it to one of these places for a good cause.
