The Sox stand alone, and they don’t look half bad
Filed under Uncategorized by Vanessa at 10:11 pm
The Red Sox have unveiled new away and alternate uniforms and a new logo, and as with any professional team that changes up their attire, there’s been a lot of talk - or trash talk - about the new looks.
Here they are:
The alternate jersey modeled by Nashua resident Lynn Hendrickson.

And for comparison, here’s the old styles:

The biggest change is the removal of the words from the logo. Is it a good move or a bad move branding wise? As someone who grew up in New England, I recognize the Sox right away as being the team logo. For someone not from New England, I guess it could cause some sort of confusion, but if you’re watching baseball, I’d have to argue that the Red Sox are one of the most recognized teams worldwide (possibly because of how obnoxious us fans can get.)
My one complaint about the uniforms: I wish they would choose a different color for the alternate uniforms, even if it’s just a different red. I find that the red they use is slightly annoying and too bright.
What do you think? Feel free to post below.
