If the shoe fits
Filed under Uncategorized by Vanessa at 3:36 pm
I went boot shopping on Friday (I know, winter’s almost over. I’ll explain in the next post.) and couldn’t help but overhear two women in Payless discussing whether or not to buy shoes that didn’t quite fit.
One of the women had slightly different sized feet (as most of us do), and the shoes she wanted fit one foot but not the other. I wanted to hollar across the isles, "If you love them buy them and make them fit."
But hollaring over seemed a little hypocritical because I found myself in that same situation at DSW about 10 minutes earlier.
I was in the discount section at the back of the store when I saw the most gorgeous pair of red, metallic Chinese Laundry shoes.
I seem to be a sucker for metallic colors because I already have a pair of pink metallic pumps that I love. I guess that’s what happens when you grew up in the ’80s.
But back to the shoes I saw. They were on the sales rack and discounted at 80 percent off their marked $59.95. For those of you that have trouble with math, that means they are now $11.99.
I had to have them. Only one problem, they were a 7 1/2 and I normally wear a 7, but I kept my fingers crossed as I slid them on, hoping that maybe they run small. The right foot fit fine but the left was sliding all over the place.
As I was saying before when I wanted to offer up advise to the woman in Payless, I’m a firm believer that even if the shoe doesn’t quite fit, you buy it anyway and either stretch it if it’s too small or get inserts if it’s too big, but I knew this one wasn’t going to work.
So readers if you have a size 7 1/2 foot, I’d hurry down to DSW and grab these shoes (or maybe some of the others that were marked down 80 percent). But leave the boots for me. I still need another pair.
