OK, I promise I won’t always write about shoes, but I was in Marshall’s on Daniel Webster Highway tonight and stopped in my tracks when I saw a gorgeous pair of brown knee-high boots with faux fur trim, but then I realized that boot season means deep discounts on summer shoes.

And boy was I right.

Now’s the time to shop for those classic summer pieces – think wrap dress or the perfect black pumps – because they are marked down and will still work next summer. Plus, according to the weather forecasts, we still have a few hot days left so they can get some use this year or you could always use them to layer.

There were lots of Guess and Nine West shoes in the $20-$35 range, which is a great price and most of them were pumps or slingbacks, which means you can pair them with your favorite tights or pants for fall wear.

Make sure you check closely though, because I also found several pairs in the $5-$10 range. And if you can’t find a pair at the Daniel Webster store, then head to the West Side Plaza on Northwest Boulevard or check out TJ Maxx at 590 Amherst St.
