I'm always on a mission to find interesting pots, and I had a few plants that needed to be repotted. I also have a spider plant that is reproducing at an insane rate, and I have promised several co-workers plants.
Never being one for drab and gray – and feeling a depressed because of all the snow and rain – I decided to go on a mission to brighten up my quarters. It's easy to turn your home or office into lush quarters and liven up a room during the winter months with some plants, flowers and stylish pots. You can find a decent selection of pots at most home improvement, crafts or furnishing stores but I wanted to a place with a larger selection. After a little searching, I headed out to Wilton to the House By the Side of the Road, which is open year round. Stepping into the greenhouses a couple of weeks ago, you would have no idea that there was several feet of snow on the ground. And while I could have spent several hours wandering through the place, I had to focus on finding pots. I needed several cheap, small pots for the spider plants and then a bigger one for one of my own plants, and I hit the jackpot here. Not only did I find what I was looking for, but I found I bunch of other interesting pots. Here's the ones I settled on.
The smaller pots were between $2.99 and $3.99, while the larger pot cost $24.99. This orchid pot was cool looking but slightly pricier at $43.99. The store also has bonsai pots, which would also make great starter pots for an indoor herb garden. These cost $2.99 and $3.99.
If Wilton is too far for you to drive, then check out HomeGoods, Lowe's, Home Depot or Michaels, which is having a 40% off sale on floral containers through Saturday, March 8. Or, if your feeling more creative, check out Time to Clay in Nashua and make your own. And if you're looking for a plant that's almost impossible to kill, send me a message, I just may have some extra spider babies available. Add commentsearcharchives
