Holman Stadium will be a busy place on Saturday, starting with a city-sponsored event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then right at 1 p.m. the gates will open for the American Defenders of New Hamphsire game vs. Sussex, which is set to start at 2:05 p.m.
The band “Afterburner” will then perform a concert starting at approximately 6 p.m. at a stage which will be set up down the left field side. The concert will go to approximately 8:15 p.m., with the city of Nashua’s pre-fireworks ceremony starting at 8:20. Fireworks will begin just after 9 p.m.
Interestingly enough, Saturday will be baseball with a clock. The city has reportedly set 4:45 p.m. as the time for the Defenders to be off the field, due to the concert and July 4 celebration preparations. According to Defenders president Dan Duquette, if the game is not concluded by that time, it will be suspended and resumed prior to the regularly scheduled 5:05 p.m. series/homestand finale with Sussex on Sunday.
