For anyone wondering why Tim Wakefield, Julian Tavarez, Clay Buchholz and other players not on the ALDS roster were in uniform and introduced during the pre-game ceremonies, it is fairly routine for playoff teams to allow anyone on the 40-man roster in September to continue staying with the team during the postseason.
