The first boo of the night from the Coors Field crowd came before a Red Sox player was announced.

The jeers went to Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, who didn't show up tor retrive his Sharp Hank Aaron Award Rodriguez was the winner as the American League's best hitter of the season.

Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers was present as the National League winner.

The early boos were just a warmup for the introduction of the Red Sox starting lineup.
