Homeless Rockie

Alan | 27 October, 2007 18:43 | (134)

Count Colorado catcher Yorvit Torrealba among those who really didn't expect the Rockies to be playing into October.

Through the playoffs and World Series, Torrealba has taken up residence at a Marriott Courtyard in Denver. Apparently, the lease on his home ran out at the end of September and he didn't bother extending it.

Not that he isn't forgiven for that oversight by local fans who, as Rockies manager Clint Hurdle full understands. He gets a standing ovation each morning when he visits the Starbucks near his home.
