Terry Francona said Thursday that there may be circumstrances under which David Ortiz could see playing time in all three World Series games at Coors Field, where the Red Sox will have to go without the DH.
Typically in a National League ballpark during the season, Francona will rotate Ortiz, Kevin Youkilis and Mike Lowell through a three-game series, using two at a time. That remains the most likely scenario this weekend. But, Francona said when asked if there were any scenarios in which Ortiz could play in all three games, "Oh, yeah," without expanding. Ortiz is still bothered by a sore right knee, which has nagged him all season and likely will require surgery over the winter. - Alan Greenwood Add commentsearcharchives
