An alert reader pointed out that I completely butchered the lead of the Red Sox Journal in today's paper.

In writing about the reaction to Joe Torre's departure from the Yankees, I somehow had him beginning his New York tenure in 1995 when it was really 1996. I also had Butch Hobson as manager of the Red Sox in 1995, when his last season being tortured by Dan Duquette was 1994 The Red Sox manager in 1995 was Kevin Kennedy.

With no other alibi handy, I'll blame sleep deprivation.
