Believe it or not

A scalper outside Jacobs Field on Tuesday afternoon bemoaned the fact that the ALCS was "a dog" when it comes to street sales of tickets.

"Last night they weren't going for face value,'' he said, citing online ticket agencies and an Indians promotion as the reason why. The Indians have been making a season ticket push for the last couple of months guaranteeing those who put a down payment on 2008 plans priority in buying post-season tickets.

"I know a guy in Boston who says it's bad there, too,'' he said.

That seems a bit unlikely, but who's to dispute the scalping grapevine?
