Generally speaking, the Red Sox’ bullpen is rolling along as one of the team’s strengths, certainly a large part of any discussion concerning Boston’s chances for a long playoff run. A man who made lots of noise during his 23 big-league seasons, rhetorically and otherwise, faded into retirement this morning. Curt Schilling, who missed all of 2008 with a bad shoulder (an after signing a one-year, $8 million deal to stay in Boston) announced his retirement on his 38pitches blog at WEEI.com.
