The Halladay Watch - Sox casually keeping an eye on it

For anyone who is intrigued to the point of distraction by Roy Halladay’s presence on the showroom floor, an update on the grapevine:
Not surprisingly, the Red Sox have not made a pitch for the Blue Jays ace, as reported by the Globe’s Nick Cafardo. Fantasy leaguers who double as Red Sox fans may drool at the notion of adding the American League’s best pitcher to an already solid staff; cooler heads balk at the obviously enormous long-term cost.
As for the other AL East Superpower, the Yankees also appear unlikely to make any sort of serious run at Halladay., according to the New York Post’s George King. Of course, if somehow Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi could lure the Red Sox into serious discussions, The Empire’s interest would soar.
Halladay is ready to waive his no-trade clause, which will keep the rumors flying.
“My goals have always been the same. I love Toronto. I want to stay here, but I want to win as well,” Halladay said in an interview with mlb.com
Sad to say, the Blue Jays would be in the thick of four of the other five division races in MLB.
